  64. NOTE: It is assumed that you are familiar with the 
  65. basic Windows operations such as using the mouse, 
  66. accessing pull-down menu items, etc.  "click" means 
  67. to position the mouse cursor on a screen time and 
  68. press the LEFT mouse button.  "Right Click" means 
  69. to press the right mouse button.  If you are having 
  70. difficulty and are unsure how windows works please 
  71. consult your Windows Manual or on-line help for further 
  72. information on these topics. You may also access CASINO 
  73. PLANNER help anytime from within the program.

  75. Installing CASINO PLANNER on your hard drive
  76. from floppy disk:
  77.  
  78. 1) Start Windows if not already in Windows.
  79. 2) Insert Mini floppy into floppy disk drive.
  80. 3) From the PROGRAM MANAGER select RUN from the file menu.
  81. 4) At the command line enter,
  82.    a:setup or b:setup depending on which drive floppy 
  83.    disk is in.
  84. 5) Click OK button to begin the installation process.
  85. 6) Follow instructions as prompted on the screen.

  87. 3.0 Getting Started
  88.  
  89. CASINO PLANNER has been designed to be easy to use.  
  90.  
  91. 3.1 Ideal for Beginners and Advanced Players
  92.  
  93. CASINO PLANNER  is ideal for both the beginner 
  94. and advanced player.  Using the power of interactive 
  95. multimedia, the non-Mini version of  the program takes you
  96. through the basics of the game at your own pace and in the 
  97. privacy of your own home. Exclusive features allow the advanced
  98. player to gain access to information on winning NEVER before
  99. available.

  101. 3.2 Use the On-line Help
  102.  
  103. The help incorporates a unique interactive design that
  104. minimizes the need to "dig" for information.  Subtopics
  105. or pages (screen - size "chunks" of information) are grouped
  106. in a logical sequence to form subjects similar to chapters
  107. in a book.
  108.  
  109. 3.3 Table "HOT SPOTS" for Different Bet Types
  110.  
  111. Unfortunately, the layout at a real crap table does not 
  112. "label" all of the different bets that can be made.  
  113. Likewise, CASINO PLANNER for Craps had to do the same.  
  114. But in an effort to make it easier to see where the "areas" 
  115. are for different bet types, CASINO PLANNER has an option to
  116. select a "gray" table instead of the standard green or blue.  
  117.  
  118. To select the gray table:
  119. 1.  Under the Options menu, select "Casino". 
  120. 2.  In the Casino dialog, select the gray table (bottom left 
  121.     portion of dialog).  
  122. 3.  Click the OK button.  
  123.  
  124. Now you should see a gray crap table in the main screen.  
  125. There are different shades of gray to indicate where the 
  126. "Hot Spots" are for the various "unlabeled" bets.
  127.  
  128. To see what type of bet is under a shaded gray area:
  129. 1.  Hold down the shift key and click with the left mouse 
  130.     button the shaded area you are interested in.
  131. 2.  A help window will be displayed explaining the type of 
  132.     bet selected.
  133. 3.  After reading the text displayed, go the file menu and 
  134.     select "Exit".  This will take you back to the main table.
  135.  
  136. Alot of people like the gray table better than the green and 
  137. blue tables simply because it is more intuitive and it is 
  138. easier to see the chips on a gray table.  However, the choice 
  139. of table color is yours.

  141. 4.0 Troubleshooting
  142.  
  143. 4.1 Sound Problems
  144.  
  145. CASINO PLANNER recommends using a Soundblaster or
  146. compatible sound card. Make sure you have the correct
  147. card and its required drivers are installed properly.
  148.  
  149. 4.2 Display Problems
  150.  
  151. Check that your monitor is set to display 256 or more
  152. colors, for best results.  If you computer is only capible
  153. of 16 colors, CASINO PLANNER will still work, but some color
  154. combinations may look funny.

  156. 4.3 Display Help mode
  157.  
  158. Check that your monitor is set to display at least 256 
  159. colors, for best results.  If you are using a setting 
  160. of thousands of colors, some video drivers may cause 
  161. On-line Help jump text to appear black instead of 
  162. green.  This is caused by the video driver.  Contact
  163. your manufacturer for a copy of the latest driver(s).

  165. 4.4 Brightness
  166.  
  167. The brightness can vary from monitor to monitor. 
  168. If the crap table color is too dark (i.e. dark green), 
  169. simply increase the brightness control knob on your 
  170. monitor.
